Monday to Friday Healthy Breakfast Ideas
Eating healthy when you’re running low on time can be a challenge. I’ve summed up some of my favourite healthy breakfast ideas that you could try from Monday throughout Friday to get you going and keep you energized all day long.
Let’s face it, Monday is always a tough morning so anything to make it quick and painless is a must. A smoothie is a great option for a healthy breakfast on the go. You can easily add all your favourite ingredients to your blender the night before, and then add either water or nut milk in the morning. That way all you need to do is hit that blend button and you’re on your way.
Power Protein Smoothie
- 1 cup Frozen Fruit ( any kind )
- 1 Scoop of Protein Powder ( I use this one )
- 1 Cup of Water or Choice of Nut Milk
- Handful of Spinach ( optional )
- Add Chia or Hemp Seeds ( optional )
Another healthy breakfast that’s pretty painless to make is oatmeal! This has been one of my favourites lately, and it only takes a couple of minutes if you use minute oats. Sticking to plain oatmeal is your healthiest bet, because there’s no added sugar. To sweeten it up I usually slice up a banana, add shredded coconut on top, and then finish off with a generous splash of unsweetened almond milk.
- ½ Cup of Minute Oats
- ½ Banana, sliced
- Sprinkle of Shredded Coconut
- Almond Milk
Depending on what we have in the house, I will add other fruit like blueberries or strawberries.
Spicing up Wednesday morning with a simple avocado toast. I am obsessed with avocados so starting the day off with a delicious toast is the bomb. I could easily get really fancy with this, but since this is a weekday morning and time is of the essence we’ll make it quick without skimping on taste. All you need to do is slice up your avocado, place it on your toast, add hot sauce, pepper, seasoned salt, and some chia seeds.
- 1 avocado
- 2 slices of toast
- Hot Sauce to Taste
- Seasoned Salt and Pepper
- Chia Seeds ( optional )
Thursday morning we’re in for a veggie scramble. This breakfast takes about 5 minutes if you keep your veggies pre-cut. I like to add onion, spinach, black beans, and tomato to mine. Just turn on your frying pan to medium heat, add 2 eggs and your veggies, and then slowly stir until it’s all cooked. I also like to add hot sauce, salt and pepper for taste.
The Veggie Scramble
- 2 eggs
- Chopped Onion
- Chopped Spinach
- Chopped Tomato
- Black Beans
- Hot Sauce, Salt and Pepper
Hallelujah we made it through the week. Friday mornings call for a sweet treat, so we’re going to make another delicious toast. This time peanut butter will be the base, topped with sliced bananas, strawberries, and shredded coconut. Yum!
- 2 Pieces of Toast
- Peanut Butter
- 1 Banana
- 1 Strawberry
- Sprinkle Shredded Coconut
