The Juno Awards 2017

I am beyond excited to be attending the Junos this year in Ottawa. Number 1, because it’s in Ottawa, and number 2, because it’s such an iconic Canadian event. Every year the Junos recognize and showcase amazing Canadian artists for their talents and hard work.

This year I am so excited to be one of the official Juno bloggers! I want to share with you my experience through the entire weekend and give you a behind the scenes peek of the event through my eyes! There are so many amazing events happening throughout the city, so make sure you check them out, some of the bars are having live performances and are even staying open after hours (heck yah!)Check out the events here!

3 things I’m most excited for this weekend are:

1. Juno Style

One of the best parts about events like this is the fashion. I cannot wait to see what everyone is wearing and get inspired by such unique styles. Being a music award show, I feel like everyone tends to dress a bit edgier, which is totally cool with me because I am a bad-ass at heart.

I’m also interested to see the different hairstyling. You all know I love hair and experimenting with it, so this will be a treat for me! I had the amazing opportunity to visit SAAB Salon on Bank for some hair touch ups and they absolutely KILLED it!

2. Juno Artists

The whole reason events like this take place is to showcase amazing Canadian talent. This year artists like Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Ruth B, Tegan and Sara, (just to name a few) have nominations. CF Rideau Centre hosted Juno FanFare this year and the energy in the building was insane. This was such a great opportunity to see and meet some of the amazing Canadian talent.

3. The Hype

This is such an exciting year for Canada, and Ottawa especially. Having the Junos hosted here this year is just one of the many things bringing so much hype to the city. I feel like Ottawa often gets overlooked being right in between Toronto and Montreal, but we’re breaking away from being known as a sleepy city. You can really feel the energy and the excitement from everyone who lives here, and everyone who’s coming to visit. I’m so happy to get to experience all of this in my hometown!

I hope to see you all out and about in the city this weekend, and don’t forget to follow along 🙂
